When we launched INKA last February, little did we know it would be in the midst of a global pandemic.
Suffice to say 2020 has been a bittersweet year for us here are INKA, filled with both unforeseen roadblocks and unforgettable moments for our small team. But as our first year comes to a close, we are filled with new hope and aspirations for INKA and so much gratitude for our community.
So to commemorate our birthday, we wanted to take a look back at all the milestones that made this year worth it.
February
To celebrate our launch we hosted a sushi-making class with Sophia Li at the Hoxton over cocktails and live jazz. It was a night to remember, and not just because it was the last of in-person gatherings for the foreseeable future. Oh, and we also got our first press coverage in Domino, Daily Mail, and The Zoe Report.
March
Covid hit and we had to rethink just about every aspect of our newly-launched business. It was a tough month, but we came back even stronger and gave 10 meals to Feeding America with every purchase.
April
Quarantine-cooking took off and we launched our Set of 6 Food Containers to meet the needs of home chefs everywhere. It quickly became one of your favorites.
May
We went live with The Lunch Club - our digital space to talk food, sustainability, wellness, and more. We also gave free Food Container sets to over 100 frontline health care workers so they could take care of their bodies while taking care of all of us.
June
We launched Table Talk, our program dedicated to amplifying BIPOC voices. We gave free foodware to help them eat well, and a platform to speak on any subjects of their choosing– big or small. A big thanks to all who participated!
July
In the midst of picnic season, we partnered with @alyssainthecity to give-away an outdoor-friendly foodware bundle.
August
You asked, we answered! We started selling all of our elevated foodware accessories separately on our site. Previously, they were only available with The Lunch Kit.
September
We collabed with Maude, Open Spaces, Veles and Cadence for a fun “peace of mind through design” giveaway.
October
We kicked off our recipes series to help inspire you to eat well.
November
We brought you our limited edition Food Containers in Aubergine AND got featured in Goop’s Holiday Gift Guide. Goop became our first stockist– the only other place you can get the Lunch Kit outside of our store.
December
To kick off our first ever holiday campaign, we released our INKA hats and puzzles - a win for food lovers everywhere.
January
We finished the year off with a bang when we launched a giveaway with our favorite cookware brand Caraway and kitchen organization pros at Yamazaki.

A big thanks to everyone who made INKA possible and cheers to another year of meal time made easy.
